Implementation - that’s easy, right

Implementation is that stage between when a new strategy, process, system, etc. is designed and when it is adopted and running everyday. It’s easy to rush it because the new way just makes so much sense, right. So of course it’s going to just be accepted and done consistently moving forward.

Not the case.

Implementation and change efforts fail a lot. This is true for small, medium and large businesses and organizations of all types. People revert to the old way or people try to do both ways. And as a result improvements lag or never really happen. And unfortunately people become hesitant with new ideas, approaches and change.

Implementation has been a part of ALL the projects that I do with business owners and is such a key part to me that it will be a bigger focus on this site, the newsletter and in new offerings that are coming out. I am so excited! I am looking forward to sharing some focused, actionable work that will help you with implementing and change in your business.

Fresh Starts & My Big Brother

My brother is the guy that everyone likes. He is everything I could want in a big brother. Kind, protective, hard-working, smart at finding solutions, accepting and supportive…and he tries to be funny too :P

Today is his birthday which always gets me sentimental, reflective and inspired for the future. Whether it is a birthday or a new season (it’s Fall!), ‘fresh starts’ are a real thing in growth, development and taking on goals in new ways.

As I do my Fall ‘fresh start’ in my quarterly goal planning, I’m going to be using a bit of his approach to problem solving and looking for solutions…to be like Mike :)

Take Action Tuesday - New Solutions

I love helping entrepreneurs see and implement new solutions.

And I bet you do too? So many entrepreneurs light up to give back and pay it forward with other entrepreneurs.

#TakeActionTuesday has become a mantra that I find fun, decisive and uplifting every Tuesday. It’s a simple reminder every Tuesday to find/ act on the next action forward. Throughout the day, so many actions will happen and something about this energy makes it feel extra creative, fun, decisive and open to new solutions. Whether it’s taking a clear action or asking for help, both are a step forward.

Take the next step - whether it’s acting, asking for help or paying it forward to help another with their #TakeActionTuesday :)

Newsletter bias

Newsletters have a bad rap these days because of frequency and application. We get so many promotional emails these days that we are all a little bias when we hear ‘newsletter’ or ‘email list’. There are a number of organizations that send newsletters/emails too often! So we (and customers) are turned off and hesitant to sign up for any newsletter/email list.

Overcoming this bias is important for:

1) signing up for newsletters/email lists that will actually help and

2) as a business owner, to leverage this great channel for connecting with customers.

Newsletters are good as a channel for connecting. The bar has been raised on how we use it because there is so much noise in the world and this bias that has happened when customers hear ‘newsletter’.

#TakeActionTuesday

Actions comes before results. Consistency comes before progress. Consistency comes before resolution. When looking at your biggest challenges in this stage of your business, remember consistency is key. Consistency doesn’t mean weeks and months and … It means consistent action/effort, enough times. In James Clear’s book Atomic Habits, he says that habits do not take a certain number of days or weeks to form. He says it’s the repetition of taking action.

The same goes for your big challenge in your business right now. It needs consistent effort of working on the challenge. Consistent effort to put the pieces together to see the sustainable solution, make a plan and put into action. Then take consistent action on the solution for it to lead to success.

Are you clear on your central challenge for this stage of your business that needs consistent focus, effort and action from you? This month’s newsletter will help :)
